"This put a fresh wind in my business. Thank you! OH! I almost forgot...I (raised my) prices (423%) and it is the best selling product.” ~ Tabitha Day Philen

Well, here's just a quick overview...

  • What I mean when I say “humanity is the next killer app.” (I created this as a variation of what a 9-figure marketing entrepreneur taught me nearly a decade ago.)
  • A sneaky arm-bar even white belts can use to tap black belts in 30 seconds from anywhere. (But it pissed off a black belt so much he's been mean to me for the last year, so be careful how you use this!!)
  • Why you need to stay human, stay close, stay lethal to make it through what’s headed our way. (**“**Beware of an old man in a profession where men die young.” I’ve sold through the dot-com bust of 2000, the financial collapse of 2008, and the COVID plandemic and provided for a wife and seven kids on my sole income, so what I’m sharing with you is PROVEN, not theoretical.)
  • Why your side control pressure SUCKS, and how to fix it once and for all. (To lead a horse, your dog, or your opponent, you must move their head. Here’s how to do that correctly and maybe even tap bigger opponents and higher belts just from pressure.)
  • Get anyone to open up to you within 30 seconds of meeting them. (I used this to win a $20 bet with my boss’s boss when we were meeting an uptight engineer. I had the client laughing as he escorted us to his office from the lobby! We were literally walking and making small talk, and I had this guy eating out of the palm of my hand. I looked back at my boss’s boss, who just shook his head in a mix of quiet disbelief, frustration at losing his bet, frustration at losing his bet so quickly, plus joy and admiration that he had me on his team. Meanwhile, my boss just chuckled because he had seen me do this time and time again, since he was in the field with me more often.)
  • The “backwards but simple” technique I've used since white belt to pass everyone's guard, even black belts. (It’s kinda backwards at first, but once you understand why you “begin with the end in mind,” it becomes automatic.)
  • Why I teach that to make any sale, you must make every sale. (Everyone wants vision boards and BHAGs, but they don’t want to get busy taking action to make those dreams a reality. Here’s how to beat them.)
  • A simple, quick, easy, OBVIOUS way to keep your triangle from getting smashed. (Yes, there are fancy ways to do things like you see on Instagram, but let’s Keep It Simple, Stupid by starting here.)
  • Why you get the same objections over and over and over and how to stop getting it once and for all. (I learned this from my sales mentor in 2006 after having made at least $100,000 in commissions annually since 2008, and I was able to apply it immediately to make me 80% more effective when asking for the sale.)
  • How to tap anyone with this FAST but “incorrect” triangle. (While you seek perfection in an attack, I seek submission. This will change your game forever.)
  • The subject line I’ve used since 2004 that gets a response from 99% of prospects. (People are still [mostly] decent, and this subject line pushes that button.)
  • The two secret adjustments to the De La Riva as taught to me by the founder of Origin, 3rd degree black belt, Pete Roberts, who trained under De La Riva’s first black belt. (I struggled with the DLR for over eight years until I learned this.)
  • The #1 job of a salesperson…and it ain’t “closing” or “selling.” (You cannot force anyone to buy from you, but there is one thing you can totally “force,” and it’s easier than you think.)
  • The basic geometry of a triangle that you’ve gotten wrong from day one. (A ninja tattoo artist I’ve known since 2017 showed me this as a white belt, and I used it last month to choke a 260-lb 1st degree black belt.)
  • How to eliminate “think it overs” once and for all. (Hearing “yes” is wonderful and hearing “no” sucks, but it’s life. It’s the “maybes” that’ll kill you every time. Here’s how to never hear that again so you can move forward with confidence and even reckless abandon to win.)
  • How to relieve brutal side control pressure from even the biggest of opponents. (Big guys know that “quantity has a quality all its own,” and it’s hard to cheat gravity, but in BJJ,
  • The #1 job of a sales manager. (You’re not supposed to be spending all of your time beating down your salespeople or running CRM reports or approving expenses. Here’s how you create a winning sales team in any industry, during any economic activity.)
  • The game of opposites you must master to grow in BJJ and business. (The concept of “yin” and “yang” is at least 3,000 years old, and it’s just as relevant and applicable today in business and BJJ as ever.)
  • The sneakiest 1-second lasso submission everyone overlooks and no one expects. (Magic tricks work because they get you looking away from where the “trick” is happening. Ditto for this brutally fast and effective submission.)
  • The #1 job of a business owner. (Accountants and bookkeepers can manage your P&L. Your ops officer or HR can create “company culture.” This is the one thing only YOU can do and you MUST do to survive.)
  • How to protect yourself from that sneaky 1-second lasso submission. (Look, if I give you a brutal attack, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll show you how to survive it and even counter it. You can learn this in 30 seconds.)
  • Why you need to be a “sales dog,” and how it will accelerate your sales by at least 87%. (Professionals in BJJ and business leave nothing to chance, and sales is business. Here’s a visual to help you protect your back as you stay on track.)
  • The “football move” that is the simple secret to finishing your opponents in a triangle. (A multiple-tournament-winning black belt taught me this, and it’s a game-changing move that I’ve taught to boys and girls, men and women, young and old in under a minute.)
  • The #1 sin of marketing. (Growing without marketing is tough. Making this mistake in your marketing is like going swimming in the ocean with an anchor tied to your waist.)
  • What Ryron Gracie showed me during a private session that will make your cross-collar chokes DEADLY!!!! (We spent 20 minutes on this ONE THING…and I was a BLACK BELT when he taught it to me. Ugh. I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but my pain is your gain.)
  • The #1 reason your sales are down, your stress is up, and you’re running on empty. (You’ve been lied to your entire life about everything that matters. I’ll prove it and I’ll show you how to inoculate yourself from it happening ever again and how to recover and grow without any hesitation from now on.)
  • Why you want to bait your opponent to do this one “obvious” thing to defend your triangle so you can finish him even easier. (People think they know how to escape submissions, but this proves they do not!)
  • The most important part of everything you write. (Don’t say, “But Wes, I don’t write. I’m not a good writer. I hate writing. Nobody reads anymore these days!” Stuff it. I’ll show you why you’re wrong on all of those fronts and how to flip the script and make more money faster than you ever thought possible if you apply what I show you.)
  • How to frustrate the crap out of overweight, sweaty brutes whose only game is being heavy and smashing the life out of you. (Submissions are cool and all, but if you tap, you can’t win, and in most tournaments, your opponent can only pin you in side control for 20 seconds. Here’s how to survive the most brutal of attacks so you can make your move when they are forced to move…and mess up!)
  • Why the “visual, audible, kinesthetic (VAK)” learning style mantra is total crap. (As I said before, you’ve been lied to all your life. I’ll show you how to read people so you can connect with to help them learn what you are trying to convey so they’ll trust you enough to buy from you.)
  • This “prison rule” grip on gi pants that will make your opponent beg you to pass their guard. (Ha. Okay. I’ll admit that sometimes…SOMETIMES…I’m a bit of a bully on the mats…but only with the people I really love…or hate. Those are the only two times.)
  • Why the “93% of all communication is non-verbal” mantra is total crap, and how to really read between the lines to know exactly what people are telling you they want and fear. (This is related to the VAK myth mentioned above. The truth will set you free, and you’ll be a selling machine when you learn to apply this.)
  • The gaping hole in your triangle that is exhausting you, frustrating you, and inviting your opponent to stack, pass, and submit you with ease. (BJJ works because it’s based on elementary math…and a little algebra. Get this right and your chokes will be twice as deadly immediately.)
  • Why 99% body language experts are idiots. (This is also related to both the VAK myth and the non-verbal communication myth. However, this ONE thing in body language is ALWAYS a great indicator that something is up.)
  • Two simple ways to defend lasso attacks that will frustrate your opponent and give you a second to breathe and catch your breath. (A 6th-degree black belt taught me this in 2019, and now even top-level competitors struggle to get me with their lasso.)
  • Why you should always leave a message when cold calling. (When you have THIS winning script to follow, you’ll be excited to leave messages for your best prospects.)
  • My sneakiest way to not only defeat the lasso but to counter it and tap my opponents before they ever know what hit them. (This is a bit of “risk-reward,” but it’s low-risk and high-reward, and anyone can do it at any level.)
  • The only thing you need to look for in a prospect’s body language that can be learned in under a minute, that lets you know if they are lying or not, and it is 100% accurate. (This is related to the 99% idiots above. Body language is fine, but it’s not a cure-all; this little thing is a huge lever to help you read between the lines.)
  • How to unwind even the toughest of lasso guards. (Sometimes you run across a great lasso player who will get their foot set. Here’s how to handle that to send them into panic mode and pass their guard or attack their legs and feet.)
  • Why PBOs—permission-based openers—are dead. (Here’s how to immediately get the attention of the highest-level decision makers when making cold calls and get 90% of them talking right away.)
  • Where to place your bottom arm when working half-guard bottom. (A slick black belt taught me this years ago, and it’s the #1 thing I do to hold off everyone, and I teach this to everyone ever attempting half-guard bottom.)
  • The proper cadence and timing to reach your top prospects. (Prospecting and selling is courtship. It’s dating. Respect yourself and your offer enough to be passionate about how you go to market.)
  • Exactly how to play open guard, even if you’ve avoided it like the plague forever. (A black belt former Army Ranger turned cop worked with me on this for days when I was a purple belt, and now I sweep larger, younger opponents from open guard on autopilot.)
  • Why ONE is the loneliest, riskiest, scariest number in sales, marketing, and BJJ, and how to fix it now. (This is along the lines of “dig your well before you’re thirsty.” I’ll show you how to “dance with who brung ya,” while testing and developing alternative paths to aid in your stability and growth.)
  • The “impossible” move to give up your back as an offensive move. (I know it’s a crazy idea, but around 2018 I hurt my left elbow, then pinched a nerve in my right shoulder, so I spent a year unable to frame…so I rolled to turtle or offered by back to hard-charging opponents…or so they thought. I’ll show you how to do this and not give up any points and even use it to score points and even submissions, especially when you’re tired, injured, and worn out.)
  • The purpose of your headline. (And how to write a good one, which are few and far between these days. This will put you head and shoulders above all of your competitors to win your unfair share of leads.)
  • The 3-second, 4-step sequence to defend even the most brutal triangles. (When someone is trying to kill you, every second counts, and the simpler the defense, the better. A 3rd-degree black belt taught me this as a white belt on a Saturday class, and I used it successfully AGAINST him THREE TIMES during our live rolls that same day…and you can, too.)
  • The purpose of your first sentence. (As in BJJ, simpler is better in business as well. Here’s how to master persuasive writing WITHOUT AI quickly and effectively to make you the one-eyed man in the land of the blind.)
  • The sloth arm-drag. (I developed this as a big, old, slow, stiff, semi-injured, constantly-tired, 6-day-a-week BJJ trainer…but it works for everyone because they never see it coming, so they don’t know how to defend it, so it always leads to a better position.)
  • The science-backed equation that shows how much you should talk vs. listen to win more sales. (And the old “you have two ears and one mouth, use them proportionately” is wrong as usual.)
  • The “Motti Maneuver” applied to the seated arm-drag that lets you control opponents of any size. (This is how an army outnumbered 4:1 came out victorious in 1939 and how to use its principles to also beat larger opponents.)
